YWCA Counseling Services strive to improve the emotional, mental, and behavioral wellness of our community. Located in downtown San José, we offer short- and long-term counseling and support services to clients of all ages; individuals, couples, or groups; married or not married; adult or child. Our counselors are Master's level marriage and family therapy and social work counselors, who work under the supervision of licensed therapists. They are trained to help with a broad range of issues including stress, family relations, trauma, premarital and couples' issues, depression, parental divorce, prenatal and post-partum changes, life transition, grief and loss, anxiety, and child behavior.
Counseling services are provided in a safe and confidential environment. Our services are offered on an income-based sliding-scale, with services available for as little as ten dollars per session. We also accept Victim Witness Compensation.
We also provide counselors on-campus at San Jose Unified School District elementary, middle and high schools. The goal of our program is to provide early intervention for children and teens. With accessible, compassionate YWCA counselors available on school campuses, teens have a safety net of professionals with whom to confront their issues.
